Spreading Crochet Joy in Lewes and Woodingdean!
There's something truly magical about watching someone pick up a crochet hook for the first time and, with a little guidance, create something beautiful. I've been fortunate enough to experience this magic firsthand through my beginner crochet workshops at Ida's House in Lewes and in Woodingdean, and I’m buzzing with excitement to share my experiences! 💕

From Nervous Beginners to Granny Square Gurus!
My aim is simple: to introduce the joy of crochet to absolute beginners in a relaxed and supportive environment. We start with the basics – holding the hook, creating a slip knot, and mastering the essential stitches.

It's amazing how quickly people pick it up! The initial apprehension quickly melts away as they start to see their work take shape. 🧶🥰
One of the most popular projects has been the classic granny square. There's something so satisfying about building those colourful squares, and they're a fantastic way to practice the fundamental stitches.

Seeing the look of pride on someone's face when they complete their first granny square is truly priceless. I remember how I felt when I first started and made my own granny square 🥰.

More Than Just Crochet: Building Community
These workshops are about more than just learning a new skill. They're about connecting with others, sharing stories, and creating a sense of community. I've met so many wonderful people, each with their own unique reasons for wanting to learn crochet. Some are looking for a relaxing hobby, others want to create handmade gifts, and some simply want to try something new.
Ida's House in Lewes has provided a lovely, warm and welcoming space for workshops, they are at 16 Market St, Lewes BN7 2NB. 🧶 . Do go check their page for all their wonderful classes…. They don’t just do crochet, the do knitting too. https://idashouse.co.uk/
The Woodingdean sessions have been equally delightful. They are held in a large room at GB Liners on the Industrial Park. The atmosphere is always filled with laughter, chatter, and the gentle click-clack of crochet hooks. Plus coffee ☕️ tea 🫖 and donuts 🍩. Its a truly joyful experience for everyone involved. 🥰💕

The Therapeutic Power of Crochet
I’ve also witnessed the therapeutic benefits of crochet. The rhythmic motion of the hook and yarn can be incredibly calming and meditative. In today's fast-paced world, it's so important to find moments of stillness and creativity. Crochet provides the perfect opportunity to slow down, focus, and create something beautiful with your own hands. 🥰
What's Next? Stay Tuned!
The enthusiasm and positive feedback I've received have been overwhelming, and I'm thrilled to announce that I have more crochet workshops and events coming up!
